Work package 4

Identification of small and/or large molecule modulators


The first aim of work package 4 (WP4) is to develop cellular assay systems to interfere with TREM2 and/or CD33 pathways based on readout systems that are compatible with automated screening platforms. Such reproducible, standardized and robust assays are key assets for modern drug discovery approaches. To test the suitability of the assay systems for identification of possible TREM2 and/or CD33 signalling modulators we will perform a pilot screen using a small library of selected compounds.

 

The second aim of WP4 will be to determine and improve the crystal structure of CD33 and TREM2 ectodomains as a prerequisite to model interactions with ligands and small molecules.
